Analysis on the Current Situation of Forage-livestock Balance in Different Grassland Types in Inner Mongolia ——Take Family Ranching as an ExampleCN

Abstract:Maintaining reasonable stocking rate is of great significance to maintain the balance of grassland ecosystem in Inner Mongolia.Accurate evaluation of grassland livestock balance to households can provide theoretical basis for grassland grazing management.Herdsman is the basic production unit of grassland utilization and the executor of grassland livestock balance.The policy of balance between forage and livestock regulates the balance between forage supply and livestock forage demand by implementing the ideal state of determining livestock by forage and maintaining livestock carrying capacity.At present,there is a lack of micro scale analysis in the research,which can not fully explain the current situation of household specific grassland livestock carrying,and lack of accuracy evaluation.The final result is that the livestock raising scale of herdsmen is adjusted according to the market and the carrying capacity of experience,and its strong subjectivity leads to the effect of the implementation of the grass livestock balance policy greatly reduced.Inner Mongolia has a long span from east to west.The grassland types include desert grassland,typical grassland and meadow grassland.The poor natural conditions and complex socio-economic conditions,as well as a series of ecological damage and environmental degradation problems caused by unreasonable development and utilization in recent years,such as deforestation and overgrazing,make the ecological environment of Inner Mongolia Pastoral Area more tolerant and resistant to external interference Therefore,it is very important for the sustainable development of the ecosystem to balance the livestock and grass in the family pasture.Therefore,this paper selected typical counties from meadow steppe,typical steppe and Desert Steppe as the study area,using ground vegetation sampling data,NDVI data,meteorological data and herdsman questionnaire data,combined with vegetation sampling method,questionnaire survey method,remote sensing inversion method,quantitative analysis method and qualitative analysis method,evaluated the current situation of grass livestock balance in the study area and analyzed its influencing factors On this basis,the paper provides countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problem that it is difficult for some family ranchers to achieve the balance of grass and livestock in the current price segment.The main conclusions are as follows(1)The average grassland area of Xilinhot City is 472.15hm2,that of chenbalhu banner is 438.86hm2,and that of Damao Banner is 357.35hm2;the actual livestock carrying capacity and grass yield per unit of chenbalhu banner are the highest,491.63 sheep unit and 2014.65kg/hm2respectively,followed by Xilinhot City,479.05 sheep unit and 1494.33kg/hm2respectively The lowest is Damao Banner,which is 328.74 sheep units and1442.41 kg/hm2respectively.In addition,the area of grass yield higher than 2500kg/hm2in chenbalhu banner was significantly larger than the other two study areas,showing the spatial difference of grass yield.The proportion of small livestock was generally higher than that of large livestock in the three areas,and the proportion of sheep was the largest in Xilinhot City(86.31%),the smallest in Damao Banner(73.18%)and the largest in chenbalhu banner(83.96%).(2)In chenbalhu banner,18.5%of the herdsmen are overloaded,35.1%of the herdsmen are overloaded in Xilinhot City,and 32%of the herdsmen are overloaded in Damao Banner.The proportion of herdsmen who reached the level of grass livestock balance from large to small was chenbalhu banner(14.8%),Xilinhot City(13.5%)and Damao Banner(9.7%).In the study of family pasture in the study area,the proportion of herdsmen with insufficient livestock was 66.7%in chenbalhu banner,58.3%in Damao Banner and 51.4%in Xilinhot City.In a word,the balance of livestock and grass in family pasture in the three steppe type areas of Inner Mongolia was not overloaded on the whole,but partially overloaded.(3)There was a significant positive correlation between livestock carrying capacity and grassland area in different grassland types.There was a significant positive correlation between livestock carrying capacity and supplementary feeding capacity in chenbalhu banner and Damao Banner.There was a significant positive correlation between livestock quantity and market price in Xilinhot and Damao Banner.There was a significant positive correlation between grassland circulation factors and livestock carrying capacity in chenbalhu banner.Although the correlation between natural factors and stocking capacity did not pass the significance test,it can be seen that the stocking capacity and NDVI,precipitation,temperature and drought index were positively correlated.In addition,herdsmen think that there are many external factors affecting their decision-making and carrying capacity,which can be divided into the influence of population,livestock structure,infrastructure,mode of production,grassland area,policy and natural factors.
