RESTATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF DATA FROMSOMATOMETRY ON PROPORTIONAL UNITS OF THE BODYCN

Yang Yongqing(Shanghai Research Institute of Acupuncture and Meridian, Shanghai 200030)

Abstract:The principles of proportional units of the body based on the restatistical analysis of the published data from somatometry were discussed. OneWay ANOVA and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test were used to analyze somatometry data from 15 published papers. Significant differences of the length of one cun were shown between fingerlength proportional unit of the body and bonelength proportional unit of the body, between different parts of the bodylength proportional units of the body, and between defferent fingerlength proportional units of the body. It will be error using fingerlength proportional units of the body to locate points or using one part of the bonelength proportional unit of the body to locate points on the other parts of the body. It is suggested that a standard principle of point location will be used in the point location.
