A Randomized Controlled Study of Electro-Needling BL32 and BL33 at Different Depth in Treating BPHFull-text in Chinese

Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of electro-needling Ciliao(BL32) and Zhongliao(BL33)at different depths in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) through a randomized controlled study.Methods: 50 BPH patients were randomly divided into the trial group and the control group.The needle depth was 60-75 mm in the trial group and 25-40 mm in the control group.The efficacy was evaluated by international prostate symptom score(IPSS),the score of quality of life(QOL),the maximum urine flow rate(Qmax)and postvoid residual urine volume(PVR).Results: The IPSS,QOL score and PVR were significantly lower after the treatment than those before the treatment in the two groups(P < 0.05).Qmax was higher after the treatment than that before the treatment,but no statistical significance was seen.The IPSS,QOL and total effective rate were significantly improved in the trial group than those in the control group.Conclusion: Both groups can effectively improve BPH symptoms,and electro-needling BL32 and BL33 is better than conventional needling in improving urinary symptoms and QOL,which is suitable for clinical application.
